David's Well
David’s Well is our partner organization in Panama. They are working to serve and reach the Ngöbe Bugle people, and indigenous Indian people who often live in isolated jungle regions of NW Panama. During the days of the conquistadors, the Ngöbe were the proud warriors of Panama; but decimated through war and disease, today they number less than 200,000 and typically live in poverty and without knowledge of Christ. Over the years, David’s Well has discovered that the Panamanian government, who often do not even know about isolated Ngöbe villages, will provide a teacher, a doctor, and relief supplies, when a minimum of 10 homes constitute a recognizable Ngöbe ‘village’.
Your gift, of any multiple of $25 will be applied towards the construction of a simple, elevated Ngöbe house. There are 70 shares of $25 for each house. Teams from Southeast, led by Ngöbe carpenters, will be building 12 homes in two Ngöbe villages during March and June, 2009.
